All Roosendaal children between the ages of 2 and 4 can go to pre-school in Roosendaal for 16 hours per week (following a referral from the TWB child health clinic). The first 8 hours for all children are free, while the other 8 hours are partly reimbursed through kinderopvangtoeslag (childcare allowance) or compensatietoeslag (compensation allowance). It is even free for the full 16 hours for children in a Nationaal Programma Roosendaal focus area. These neighbourhoods receive extra support from the government. The focus areas in Roosendaal are Kalsdonk, 't Oude Centrum, Hulsdonk, Langdonk, Westrand and Kroeven.
